According to acouple of different sources, Safety Jonathan Meeks has committed to Clemson. Meeks is rated as a 4 star prospect by Rivals and attends Hargrave Military academy.

The Tigers may also have picked up DE Leon Mackey, who is a 4 star rated DE by Rivals. He also attends Hargrave Military Academy. This has not been confirmed at this time.

Big Leon commited too. Big guy with a motor. They will be great to reload with after losing Hamlin, Jackson, etc.

Not publicly announced, but I think we got him. Ive watched some of his interviews and hes a real sharp kid. He would do great things at Clemson! So I guess hes a soft verbal?

New information says Mackey did not commit. Maybe later.........?

Meeks is a great player. I wonder if it will be him and Spencer Adams in the defensive backfield together next year?

Could be unless they move DeAndre Mcdaniel back to Safety. I wouldn't count out the two other safeties they signed last year Carlton Lewis and Rashard Hall.

Huge Pick-up with Meeks. Goes a long way to shoring up Clemson's most glaring need. Still need to land at least 1 more safety, but having one that can contribute right away as a true freshman, maybe even start, in Meeks, helps a TON!

There is more on the horizon as well ! I'm not at liberty to discuss it as of yet . But there si a very strong possibility that Clemson may get a re-commitment from another DB that went looking elsewhere when Bowden left !
There is also a stong possibility that we steal one from Miami in the nex 2 weeks as well !
More on that later .

I always find these discussions intriguing in the sense that we are all trying to pin our hopes on what a 17 or 18-year old thinks he will do in about two months (or more).

I'm awful confused. In another thread everyone was talking about how Holloman and Gilmore was a lost cause. Now, everyone's hinting that they might be changing.

???

And, yes, that's who they're talking about.

Mickey Plyler had a blog about recruiting. He mentioned RB, WR, and OL in particular. I was a little surprised he did not discuss LBs in his blog.

As for this thread ...... I think Dabo Swinney is a very good recruiter as evidenced by the number of young men that signed after he was the principal coach assigned to them. So, once he was named the head coach it may not be surprising to see some of these guys return to the committed list. We shall see!

I would really like for his "Administrator" to be used as a recruiter, but the NCAA limits a program to 9 assistants. That guy is good!

He says at the end of the blog that he will discuss defensive players tomorrow.

Planotrw,

Hmmmm? Let's not get picky about actually reading the article in detail - hah!

Guess that explains it. Thanks!

Dabo is an excellent recruiter, but Head coaches can not have s much contact with the prospects as the assistant recruiting him. The head coach is only allowed one in home visit.

Gilmore is NOT coming to Clemson, and if Gilmore doesn't come I can't see Holloman coming.

Spurrier will probably put him in at QB and blow his confidence like he has the other QBs down there.
