Everything I'm hearing right now puts Tajh Boyd at Clemson !
He played this year with a partial ACL tear, and was co MVP of the Army AA game !!!!
The kid is a pocket guy with great pocket awareness, but good speed ,eventhough he's not listed as much of a dual threat guy !
Cross your fingers ! It's really close to done here !

I thought he said after the game that he hasn't decided where he's going yet. Have you heard something that he didn't say on TV? Also, just to play Devil's advocate, why would a QB come to Clemson this season when we already have Parker, Korn and Richt?

Rivals site has him listed as a big time dual threat quarterback. It would be nice to get him becuase we haven't had a quarterback that could run at all since 1910.

Evidently, he and Bryce Mcneal (new WR commit) are friends and have played together before. McNeal is recruiting him here for us.
Also, Korn and Parker are unknowns right now. I could see him turning us down if we had a sophomore All American playing, but as of right now, Korn and Parker are nothing special. I'm sure he's not intimidated by them.

This isn't going to turn out to be the same thing as Grobe and Chavis, is it?

Stanggt5pt0,
Good point! With all due respect, DVM, some of your sure things have not been sure things. When it comes to recruiting a 17-19 year-old, I'll wait until they sign on the dotted line on signing day.

I'm beginning to think it's part of DVM's shtick to build up suspect info and then tear the coaching staff apart when it doesn't come to fruitation. I hope i'm wrong, but like you said T80...i won't believe until signing day

I think DVM puts enough work and research into his posts to be one of the best and most reliable posters/admin on this site. Hes not cut from the same cloth as that skin flute playing Roy Philpot! Someone with 19 total posts could learn something about loyalty from DVM. Just think about it!
Now, if this QB feels comfortable at Clemson Id feel comfortable cheering for him on Saturdays. The question is, will there be a FAIR competition to be the starting QB seeing how Willy Korn has reached rock star status at Clemson while his play has been limited due to injury? I dont see Parker getting a fair shot because he plays baseball and could miss some practice time. Mark Richt wasnt a bling recruit. Tahj could have a VERY good chance at starting even if he isnt chosen as the starter in spring!

First off Tiger Theory...I've been on this site just as long and possibly longer than you. I just didn't retain my old screen name after the site crashed. Don't question my loyalty considering i've been a fan of Clemson all my life...thru ups and down. I was at the bowl game...on the Nebraska side b/c of a ticket mix up from the site they were purchased off of. My car is full of Clemson attire inside and out. I'm not a member of other Clemson sites...only this one...so don't question me about my loyalty.
It's been a lot of infighting and i think a lot of posters on here are feed up. My post count is low b/c if the topic subject matter that i wanted to contribute has been stated by someone else well enough...i don't post. DVM has contributed a lot to this site...but it only takes 1 time to kill someone to be called a murderer...and lately he's been very critical. I don't mind it actually, but what i don't like is when someone [not talking anyone in particular] only point on the bad that the team did...not the good. To me that's a slap in the face for any young man that is playing for the program we all support and love.

Homer Jordon, Mike Eppley, Woody Dantzler, and Rodney Williams ran the ball pretty darn good. Homer Jordon was the MVP of the NC game IIRC. I remember watching Mike Epply run the option at DV and run the court at Littlejohn.

You can also add Steve Fuller, DeChane Cameron and Nealon Greene to that list. All were outstanding runners.

I will cease questioning your loyalty. I do appreciate any contributions made by anyone who has any information about our Tigers. It may seem as though all some people do is point out the bad, in my case for instance, I hated the fact that the defense was the focal point of disappointment by the staff after the bowl game. It is my opinion that the defense is the BEST side of the football. You could hear those hits, they were solid and true. And anytime your defense puts points on the board for you and your special teams elimanates half of the field for you, you expect to win. Just some disappointment in how the finger got pointed more in the direction of the defense than the places that have been problem areas.
And for anyone worried about my opinions having an effect on recruiting, Id like to pull a quote from Dabo here..."Clemson sells itself". I believe this is true. Any recruit that picks a college where he isnt comfortable just because a fan had something to say should probably be doing something other than visiting the web sites.

You know I should probably avoid reading your post, but since you have repeated this several times how about providing quotes or a link of where Dabo blamed this on the defense. I read a lot of his quotes and have yet to find where he made the defense the focal point for the loss. Of course Nebraska did score 20 points in the 3rd quarter to Clemsons 7.
Quotes that I found by Dabo:
"We had a lot of momentum at halftime and just could not sustain the momentum in the second half," Swinney said. "We played well enough to win it, it's as simple as that. We had plenty of opportunities to get it done, but you have to give them a lot of credit. Offensively, we just missed way too many opportunities."
"I am sure it was a good football game to watch," Swinney said. "It is a game of inches, but I am really proud of this football team. This is not the finish that we wanted, but all year long this team has fought to the very end, and we had a chance those last two plays to win, we just did not get it done." (I don't think he was talking about the defense)
"I was disappointed in the two quick touchdowns we gave up to begin the second half," Swinney said. "Especially the second one, we had just scored on a big play go up by 11 points, but then they went right back down and scored. I was disappointed in that." (The only negative reference to the defense I could find)
"You can't take a sack in that situation," said Clemson coach Dabo Swinney. "You've got to throw the ball away and give the offense a chance."
So, how about providing a quote or a link showing that Dabo blamed the defense, or else quit putting out this kind of stuff to try to pit people against the coaching staff.
Why do you continue to do this? You seem to hate all Clemson coaches and call them all kinds of names such as idiots, retards, etc and call the offensive line fat slobs etc and try to turn every thread into an attack on the staff. Wouldn't you rather just become a VT fan? I wish you would.

Y'all have got to learn to spot sarcasm. I was referencing how our last 3 qb's (Harper, Proctor, and Whitehurst) ran like they had concrete blocks on their feet. If feels like it's been forever since we had a mobile qb. Hopefully, Parker or Korn will do better.

TgrFanRome,
One of the very first comments Dabo Swinney made after the game was lamenting that we gave up two big plays on defense. I believe that is what TigerTheory is pointing out. Of all the things to say, why mention the defense? That really did sound like Bowden. Nonetheless, I am pleased that he also mentioned the offensive problems.
Hopefully, when the emotion of the loss is over, he and the staff will be able to use the game film to figure out what to do better in 2009 other than blocking.
BTW, anyone else think we need a new line coach?

I can't front Tiger 80.... I felt Brad Scott should have been shown the door...but for some reason he stays. He's not terrible and the players like him...but he's lacking the "can do" attitude to instill that mean streak and sense of urgency they need at times.
The truth is...while the defense made plays to keep us in the games...they did make some terrible plays that kept Nebraska in it. On every scoring possession Nebraska had...it was a blown assignment on the defense that allowed the TE to be open. I laughed when the Nebraska fans were shocked at how far off we were playing their slowest and shorter WR and he made us pay for that [coaching issue there]. But yeah the Defense played great every 3rd Third Down series. And like i said before...poor angles and arm tackles hurt us just as much as dropped passes and Cullen avoiding imaginary pressure only to create pressure. But it was enough blame to go around and I think the most frustrating part was that watching it live you got the sense that Clemson was controlling the game and should have won. Clemson played either on par with them or better than them for 3 or 4 quarters. That 3rd quarter killed up and yet we still had a chance to win. The think is...we point out how poorly we played but forget that in all but 2 of our losses we had a chance to win at the end. That says to me that we have the talent...but they aren't focused.

Im already starting to forget the big plays. One was a remarkable catch with one hand by the TE, another was their RB making a play spinning out and around the pile. Athletes will make plays, limiting them is the defenses job. I think another was a questionable, but awesome catch in the endzone. They made some big plays. But I know for sure we were being held on the Dline, and IMO that fumble was a fumble. I think he was losing control before his knee hit. Not to mention that our defense was on the field a ton in the first half, and started the second on the field again. We just got worn down on defense.
Anytime you convert three 3rd downs in a game, your biggest problem is offense! We will get a shot to redeem our overrated 08 campain next year. The problem is being so bored after recruiting is over! I really hope we get this QB. He can throw a fade route. Ive forgotten what they looked like. I hope we get him, and I hope he starts!

Stanggt5pt0,
Good point! With all due respect, DVM, some of your sure things have not been sure things. When it comes to recruiting a 17-19 year-old, I'll wait until they sign on the dotted line on signing day.
Name the recruit I've been off on.
Last NSD we had Jamie Harper here before either Scout or Rivals.
There is nothing certain with a teenager,I'll admit that.
But the info I receive is usually pretty darn accurate ! I'll clue you in to who one contact is in about 12 days when he is no longer in a position to get in trouble. My other info comes from Scout ,Rivals, Super Prep, ESPN insider, and a couple of other resources I'll keep to myself.
As far as the Grobe ,Chavis stuff goes:
Grobe was #1 on A LOT of people's list .
Chavis interveiwed twice and even went as far as checking the local market for a house in the area (per a certain real estate agency in Anderson) , but Dabo didn't want to make his decision until after the bowl game. LSU came in with a sure thing,so he took it. And if you remember that came here first too.
The news on Boyd is the real thing. In fact he will be in Clemson Saturday for an official visit ! Mark it down !
There are some other points that lead him to Clemson in an article in the Scout.com site premium board. (CUTigers) But I wont post that because I have respect for Roy Philpotts work ethic and he broke it.
So if you want to know more about that I suggest you go over and shell out $100.00 per year.
My info comes from a lot of the same places, but I wont post someone else's work. Plus mine is free.

Tajh Boyd very well may still come on a visit to Clemson, and could still commit to the Tigers, but its certainly not looking like it right now. Not to be rude, but especially if youre going to run a site such as this your information better be pretty dang credible, and this looks like nothing more than hopeful spouting off at the mouth. There are several reasons besides looking ignorant its just not a good idea to do this. Furthermore, anyone can get on here and say I heard this or that... its naming a source that gives it validity.

Cross your fingers ! It's really close to done here !
"Close to done"???? And now the kid is 50/50 on even taking a visit? All I'm saying is if you're running a site like this the info better be good and better be credible, not just something you read someone else ranting about on the message board of another site... thats not a "source". Oh, and I wouldnt rely to heavily on scout.com for your information, not exactly the best "source" out there.

From my perspective 50/50 shot on a visit is better than what we had in the beginning. Phrases like "hearing", "cross your fingers", "close" should tell you that it still isnt concrete. Hell, even if he gave us a verbal, it still isnt certain with a teenager. Chillax a little and enjoy the ride for the recruiting season.
