1. Quinton Washington (no verbals from guards yet??)
1a. Bobby Massie and/or Schofield, Moore (I see one of these tackles moving to gaurd(
To say we need to start establishing depth on the Oline would be a huge understatement.
1b. Kendal Kelly and/or Bryce Brown (rounds out quality and a top 10 class)
1c. Special Teams walkons. Snappers/kickers/punters...we dont want to relive the crap from 06/07.

Just my opinion:
I'd be stunned if we pick up Washington. He's a USC fan and even though we've had him up to Clemson many times, he's never seemed to warm to us.
Shofield (spelling) reaffirmed his Tenn commitment after his official visit there last weekend. I hear we are still working him, but it's maybe only a 10% chance we get him.
We've got a pretty good shot with Kelly. The feeling on the insiders boards is that it's between us and LSU. I think we land him as LSU has signed a ton of great receivers in their last 3 classes.
I've never thought we had a real chance with Brown and I still don't. No doubt, getting McNeil and Boyd has helped with him. I'd give us a VERY slim chance at grabbing him. He wants to play immediately and CJ returning plus Harper and Ellington with a year in the system squashes that.
I think we are about done with this class. We get Kelly and one more person and settle for 15 OUTSTANDING recruits this year. I also think there's a chance we snake a couple of coot recruits on NSD. They only have 3 coaches returning this year and I bet DS has been working that.

Thats a good outlook. I feel the same way, but I do feel like we push for a gaurd. With such a thin class why wouldnt we offer some of the special teams guys a scholorship?

We signed more special team players last year than any other team in the country.

Agreed we are set with Special Teams guys for right now. I'd rather take the small great class we have now, save the scollies and get a big great class next year (26+).

I think some folks have observed that we are going for exceptional athletes this year with no plans to drop back to the next level. We are pressing hard for some bigtime athletes this year, but not some of the lesser regarded ones. This move actually makes sense. Why risk losing a scholarship for the next four years on a mistake, when we can wait a year and recruit a rising senior for the Class of 2010?

I always hated when we recruited the "fallback" guys. If we don't want them in the first place, then we don't want them at all. I know some guys have panned out in the past, but for the most part we are putting guys on schollie for four years that won't contribute much, if at all. Makes no sense to me, but then again what do I know!
