South Carolina: "I like coach Graham. I am anxious to see how their running game is going to look this year. They were one of my favorites at one time. I still like them, but want to see how they do this year. They have a lot of tradition."
Clemson: "It's right here, not too far away. I like the coaches. I like their running game. Some of my teammates are up there now. It would be good to play with them again."

IMO he's USC's to lose. If you guys don't win 8, I think he goes out of state. I'd be STUNNED if Clemson landed him. He'll give us a look if we can win 10 games (VERY unlikely IMO) and you guys go 7-5 or worse.
Bottom line is that this kid has NO IDEA where he wants to go. If I had to guess (and this is just a gut feeling with nothing to back it up... in other words a Wild ass guess), I think he actually ends up at Auburn. I think his eyes are on the NFL and USC and Clemson won't look solid enough with the run to keep him home PLUS when he starts looking at the depth chart, he's going to realize that he'll probably be riding the bench as a true freshman at both schools. This kid is good, no doubt. In fact he has the potential to be the most talented back at USC or Clemson. But I don't think he's going to come in as a freshman and beat out Harper/Ellington (two years in the system) or either of your two RBs (1 and 2 years in the system). The situation is the same at Alabama and Florida (only worse as every RB there is a 4 star player). Auburn doesn't have a premier back but they get talent every year on the OL. I would be his best chance for early playing time at a school that gives him the exposure he wants.

Why not Georgia? Their guy left for the NFL.

You will, unfortunately, never see Lattimore in a Clemson uniform. If he doesn't go to USC (which would be a tragic mistake, knowing how they coach top RB's to ruin) he will be heading out of state to Alabama or LSU. My personal opinion regarding his feelings about Clemson are, apparently he has been fed some bad information about Clemson because he seems, in reality, to barely want to give Clemson much more than a sniff! Why would ANY top RB want to logically consider USC where there is NO tradition, only a reputation for ruining good RB's? Lattimore must not be dealing with a full deck if he knowing desires to commit career suicide!!!

It will really be interesting to see how Lattimore turns out in college. I've heard some interesting things about Burnes HS in the last couple of years and folks have been pointing out the great players coming out of there and not really making that big of a splash at the Div I level. The coaches there have one of the nation's best programs for developing HS players. It's been noted that they MAY actually be doing 'too good a job'. One of the things that Div 1 schools depend on is the player getting a lot better as he gets good techniques/coaching and becomes a more polished player. Burnes players are already polished and playing with superior technique. This is leading to a type of player with less 'upside' than college coaches used to seeing.

Can you believe his comment when describing USC, "They have a lot of tradition"? Talk about a talking point for the media!

There is already too much hype on this kid! He is a good RB but he is also a drama queen! He will never pan out because his concentration will be on everything but football! I think the main reason he doesn't to look at us is because he want get immediate playing time! Also i wonder about if will even be eligible?

Well where did you get that crystal ball? You need to return it! Now he won't be eligible? LMAO you are crazy!!

Is he eligible academically? I really don't know. If he is not eligible, it won't be the first time some kid put all of his eggs in the proverbial "I'm going to be a professional athlete" basket only to find out there is more to life than playing b-ball, tackling a ball carrier, or hitting a homerun.
.... now, if he is eligible, then good for him. It is hard to focus on academics while a high school student, especially if mom, dad, your coaches, your friends and your fans tell you how great you are as a player and never mention your intellect.

I've never heard his grades are a problem, so I assume that he's in pretty good shape here. I do think Lattimore is definatly enjoying the recruiting process and his last visit is always his favorite. He's been above board with everything, including a NSD (about then) decision. I'd love to get him at Clemson myself.

If USC can get M.Lattimore it will be a big pick up !
But just in case you were wondering, his academics ARE a big question mark. He would likely not qualify at Clemson or many of the ACC schools. But that isn't a factor anyway, because Clemson pulled their offer.
With Harper ,Ellignton, McDowell, and 2 more commits ,it will free up a scholie.

I suspect that we'd oversign for ML. He's a great back. We have ZERO chance though.

"I thought Garcia looked great in the pocket and made nice throws. The o-line also looked good and made some nice holes for B-Madd (Brian Maddox) and Jarvis (Giles). South Carolina should have really won that game."

DVM,
Maybe we will find an o-linemen or a WR for the scholarship!

On one of the insider boards, they let this tidbit out of the bag. Lattimore actually contacted the Clemson staff himself last week.
They were quick to point out that no one is projecting him anywhere but USC, but it is an interesting developement.
Personally, I think he wants a Clemson hat on the table when he picks USC (or whoever). Still, you can't catch the big fish w/o a line in the water, so go get him staff.
