Clemson has officailly offered 5 star WR Kendall Kelly from Gadsden Alabama. Kelly is a "real deal" type receiver with serious downfeild capability, and is almost impossible to defend in the redzone !

What's our chances here? I would think he'd be a hard one to get.

We are recruiting his teammate as well (another 5-star player, Dre Kirkpatrick). They were both at the June Clemson camps and seemed to have a really good time. Kelly and Kirkpatrick promised to give us official visits this fall when they left camp.
As for our chances, we are squarely in the mix (with both), but you can bet that Alabama and Auburn both have their sites set on these guys. It will be tough to get these guys out of Alabama. Based on what's being said on the insiders board on Scout I'd guess we have a 25% chance of landing this guy. Chances will increase with an official visit and a great season of course. I'd be very interested in Zant's opinion on this.

Thanks for the response! I'll try not to get my hopes up for them.

I didn't mean it like that... I'm hoping that we can get at least one of them. They did come away very impressed with Clemson and I think we are at LEAST even with the in-state schools. But these two are going to have an offer list a mile long, and are not going to commit in a hurry. That makes it tough on anyone recruiting them. I'd say the odds look like this for them both:
25% Auburn
25% Alabama
25% Clemson
25% Other (USC, TENN, FL, MI, FSU, OSU, etc)
JK Jay, Holloman, and Loston are recruiting these guys as well, and IMO that is an advantage we have over most schools with these player's peers (who meet up at all the combines) working him for us. We should make both players final list of schools and be one of the 5 official visits for each of them. There's good reason to hope, but just don't get too excited.

It would certainly be great to get one or both of these young men from Alabama, but I can't say I get overly excited about Clemson making offers to anyone in June when national signing date is seven and one-half months away!
Go Tigers! :)
