Well to be honest I would never tell a kid to go against his parent's wishes, but ...........:D

Going against mom or dad can be a real tricky situation. I think a subtle approach will be what the staff uses on this young man. If we are having a good season and a good game when he visits it will help us a great deal.

He's the one who's got to go there and play and go to school.

I think in the end, parents want their kids to be happy, and the parents will tell him to go where he'll be the happiest.

I can't see me trying to influence my kids to go where I would like, I would always want them to be happy first and foremost.

I hope so. I read the other day that we might have moved out of his top 3?

I want my three sons to go to a school that pays their tuition, books, room and board through a scholarship. If it happens to be somewhere other than Clemson, then so be it. Clemson has slowly, but surely priced itself out of the market, except for the truly affluent in SC. While their quality may justify such high tuition in a competitive market, it is not appropriate from a public policy standpoint, IMO.

Okay, I guess I might draw the line if they were offered at South Carolina or Notre Dame as well as some place else.

Let's also keep in mind that Mom and Dad don't see eye to eye here. Dad is indeed pushing the SEC, especially Tenn, Bama, and SCAR. However, Mom likes Clemson. Now, having followed recruiting for more years than I care to admit and having actually had the privelige of meeting numerous families of recruits in similar situations, Mom usually gets what Mom wants. Will that happen here? I don't know...but I like our chances a lot. Stephon has us as his number 1. His best friend and long-time AAU teammate is a Clemson commit that may be an early enrollee...as might Gilmore. Mom has us as his number 1. Dad wants him to look around at other schools, especially that SEC, but was very impressed with Clemson this past weekend. He's going to be at several Clemson games this year, including the opener in Atlanta to see us crush the mighty SEC opponent Bama.

I'm not saying that he's a Clemson lock or that he's going to Clemson...it wouldn't surprise me to see him at any of the 4 schools, but I have to like our chances best as of right now.

Cool deal. I too feel that Gilmore is looking hard at Clemson. Holloman seems to be a very bright dynamic young man and his commitment to Clemson definately helps. A question for you Zant. I know that Charles Holmes is a good friend of Gilmore and is a current commit to USC. Is the Clemson staff working Holmes (I realize he's prep school bound) as well. It would seem that Gilmore would become even more a Clemson guy if both his friends were coming.

I am voting for Mom on this one! I think our staff simply comes across as genuinely caring about the young men that we recruit. That factor and the mom factor may win the day for us.
