Any of you insiders think we'll get any more commitments soon, or will it be after the season starts? Also, who do y'all think is the next tiger to commit?

I think things will slow down as the Tigers prepare for their season and the high school players get settled back into classes, practices, and games.

Agreed. We'll probably get one or two in August/September, then not much until football is over at the HS level.

I think we will actually get some commitments in October and November when they visit Clemson for some of our later home games. Of course, we both may be mistaken because we play so many home games in September. We may actually get some young men to commit after visiting our campus early in the season. It will be interesting to see how many campus visits we have scheduled for a certain game in late November.

I think that it is going to depend on how the Tigers start the season. If they win big earlier, I think they get early commitments. If they struggle with the new offensive line recruits may want to see how the season turns out.

GHawkins,

Yes, that makes sense. Winning seems to get people excited (duh!). Everyone wants to be part of a winner.

I think 99% of those who are going to commit before Dec. have done so.

The other will wait and get all the press and coverage they can before they commit.

Most likely wont hear much until after the HS football season ends.
There are a couple of guys who have said they want to choose before the season, but that remains to be seen.

I would keep your ears open very soon for Corico Hawkins if he decides to go through with his announcement. He has been saying for a while that he'd like to announce soon and he is all but a Tiger lock.

Hey Zant:

Quick question on Hawkins. What are the chances of him getting that 4th Star this year? I notice that Scout has him as the #21 MLB in the country while Rivals has him at #41. His film looks pretty good and at 6ft and 220 with 4.5 speed, he could be a 240 lb nightmare at the next level. I also notice that he has offers from some bigtime programs (Nebraska, Florida, Florida St. Auburn, and us).

Absolutely Hopeful; Right on the money. Apparently, he absolutely floored the staff on not one, but two occassions during in-person evaluations. This isn't a kid that had one freak camp...the staff is giddy about him. They think he's more talented than the guys we just brought in this past year (arguably our best LB class under Bowden). I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a 5.8 rating from rivals as early as the middle of this month. If he doesn't, he'll work his way there. I'd put him as a low 4 star right now. He needs a lot of work on technique, but he has all the measurables and is a playmaker. He has the potential to be a very good MLB or Will (I think his coverage may be a bit limited for Sam, but could stretch it to Will, but probably best suited in the middle). Initially, I was fairly non-plussed by him early and I think the middle 3 star rating was fair, but he more I have heard from scouts and evaluators that have seen him in person, the more I think Clemson is going to steal one of the better LB's in the southeast.
