5-Star QB Morgan Newman is set to announce his school in a press conference on Tuesday. He is down to Kentucky and Clemson. I'm feeling that he is a KY lean, but the latest word is that his Mom really likes Clemson. Keep the fingers crossed and come on down Morgan.

Didn't Massakowski from Texas commit to Kentucky. If so, I think that could only help our chances.

Rivals has him at 3-star and Scout has him at 5-star. I wonder why the discrepancy?

Hes going to be a Tiger. The ACC needs a few highlight QBs. Even if they are all on the same team. In the SEC all the QBs will be in Tebows shadow as far as media is concerened. The ACC is wide opened after this year for a new media darling QB. Sure would be a huge sign for the tigers class.

Hmmmm? Starting to get crowded at QB in Clemson, but I guess that is a problem every head coach would like to have!

I wouldn't count on Newton just yet. Though I'd love to see him as a Clemson Tiger, reports are filtering out from some that he's Kentucky bound. I hope they are wrong, but just passing out some info for ya.

Go Tigers

Press conference is pushed back to Thursday. Scout is calling it to Kentucky as well. Oh well, he'd have been a good one, but if you had to pick one position we don't have a need for this year, QB is it.

If I remember correctly, we didn't need to take a QB this year. That's part of the reason that we were so selective.

Absolutely. We don't need a QB this year and were only after 'elite' level players. I'm thinking we definately don't take one now.

I'm hearing that the press conference was moved to Thursday. His dad said basically, "It's down to Kentucky and a couple others." I really think that this kid ends up a Wildcat. You never know though!

We did an excellent job with Newton hanging in there with an out of region prospect...really a testament to how much Rob Spence wowed the kid in the in person talks, but Kentucky is the odds on favorite with Indiana being a darkhorse.

Hes an idiot if he goes to the SEC in my opinion. QBs like him in a spread in the ACC could obtain World Domination. IMO

Do you think Spence would change to a spread offense if this guy came to Clemson? What would happen to Korn or Parker?

Kentucky got him. Gratz to them on a good pickup and gl to Newton, he seems to be a classy kid.
