Eastside-Covington coach Rick Hurst was on the coaching staff during Fabian Walker's record-setting days at Americus in the late 1990s. Hurst said his current quarterback, Justin Wray, may be just as good. A scholarship offer from Central Florida safely tucked away, a pair of ACC programs has made numerous inquiries on the 6-foot-2, 205-pound Wray. "Justin is the number three quarterback on Clemson's board," Hurst said. "And Wake Forest will probably offer him as a defensive back or athlete. He's actually drawing interest from every ACC and SEC school."

It will be interesting to see if we offer. We've got lots of QBs now and we could easily not take one this year. We can definately afford to be picky.

FYI - He is not #3 on our QB board. He would be on our "fall back board."
Our QB recruiting board (1-3) looks like this:
1. Morgan Newton
2. Ryan Mossakowski
3. Eugene Smith

KK,
I thought that number sounded a little high as Mickey P. wrote something recently and I do not remember seeing this guy's name.

I know of the first two. Is Eugene Smith a local boy?

No sir. Eugene Smith is a dual-threat QB from Miramar, FL. He has a 4 star ranking by Rivals, and is rated as the #6 dual-threat QB in the nation. He is listed as 6'3" 182lbs. His notable offers include Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Miami, LSU, Oregon, Michigan, Louisville, Boston College, USF amongst others.

Very nice! Do you think we land one of those three?

I think Newman is a LONG shot. We've a decent shot at Ryan Mossakowski though. He camped with us in June and apparently came away impressed. I'd be fairly surprised if we take a QB that's not SUPER talented. Korn is our backup this year with Parker and Reicht (spelling) redshirting. None of these guys is a slouch. Next year if things go as expected we have a RS Sophomore starting for us and two RS freshman backing him up. We definately don't HAVE to take a QB this year.

I believe the odds are in the same order as the list above.
1. Morgan Newton
2. Ryan Mossakowski
3. Eugene Smith
Newton will end up choosing between Clemson & Kentucky, with Kentucky leading. Mossakowski is a national prospect from Texas, which is very difficult to pull off (Loston is an exception, not the rule). Plus, he is a very highly regarded baseball prospect who will be drafted in next year's MLB draft. So that could dictate his football future. We are in the early stages with Smith; and are currently a long shot.

Rob wouldnt know what to do with them if he had them. It would look pretty to have some talent at the position. But it probably wont maturate into anything. Why doesnt Rob just run the West Coast offense anyway. Its basically the same thing with more unpredictability.

Not sure what caused the flame here. I mean RS has had our QBs running all over, tallying up the rush yards when our run game cant get going...right? Seems like youve got no foundation for your opinions. If you do then lets see it. Educate me, Give me a clue! Until then lets try and keep the flamage to a minimum LK.
