Also hearing rumblings about Holloman, Thomas, and Loston...

Let's hope a few wins can straighten this out. I'd hate to see the class lose some of its stars...

On the other hand, if they're that easily swayed....

Rivals talked to Fields and asked him if he wanted to be taken off Clemson's commit list. He said no. Losing like that on NT was a huge blow to recruiting, no doubt. Hopefully some wins will help that.

I was wondering why Rivals hasn't removed him from our list....or even commented on the situation.

The staff just needs to quit.

Just saw on Tnet that Holloman decommitted, but haven't seen it anywhere else...

We really need to win a few and end this BS...

Fields - The "not committed to Clemson" information is coming from his coach (not Eric) and is getting old. When Fields originally committed (way back before summer), his coach stated "that he wasn't aware of any commitment." The AJC ran with that and printed it as a decommitment. Now, his coach is saying "I don't think any decision has been made 100% to Clemson." Once again, the AJC is running with that as a decommitment in hopes that their precious Dawgs can some how turn him. Eric Fields himself has stated numerous times that he is firm to Clemson and is working hard to be at the Valley next year. As recently as this weekend, he has spoken with Napier and told them that he is firm. Until you see a quote from Fields (and not his coach!), don't believe anything. He is a Tiger...things can and do change, and he may decommit...it happens, but until then, he is firm to Clemson.

Holloman - This guy is the second biggest recruiter for Clemson in this class, behind JK Jay. Very, very rarely does a guy actively recruit for a school only to decommit early in the process. I've seen one internet rumor post with no confirmation from any sources (including those that would LOVE a chance to bash Clemson recruiting). Until I see anything more solid, I'm going to laugh at the Holloman rumors.

Thomas - He is indeed looking around, but just because he wants to make sure he didn't make a hasty decision. As long as Bowden and Scott remain at Clemson and we win 8-9+ games, he'll be a Tiger...I wouldn't lose much sleep over Brandon possibly decommitting.

Loston - Loston is well...Craig Loston. He has communicated with the staff several times recently and every time said that he is still a Clemson commit. Rumors are running rampant about him. For example, his coach was pushing him away from Texas and now he is getting advice that he should go there and recently visited and loved Austin. Or, he is an LSU silent commit and gave them a silent verbal on his visit to their camp over the summer when he went with cousin and LSU verbal Russel Shepherd. What's the truth? I don't think anyone knows for sure...and honestly, I don't think Loston knows for certain where he's going at this time. I know that the Clemson staff thinks that they will sign him in the end, but are still actively recruiting their safety board in the advent that they do lose him. Take that for what it is worth.

People other than the player have their own agendas. You never know for sure about a high school student-athlete until they sign the national letter of intent in February. From a journalistic viewpoint, it would not be interesting if everyone stayed with the programs to whom they commit!

Listen to Zantetsuken on this one!

According to videos posted on the scout insiders boards Holloman, and Loston have stated that they are still comitted to Clemson.

Holloman said just last week that he was still firm with Clemson and that he just wanted to look around.
The powers that be at Scout say that there is absolutely no reason to worry about this .
While Loston is this year's silver tuna ,and has less contact with the recruiting agencies, he also has given no reason to worry.

In short:
I have no crystal ball and don't know what will happen. But I do know if I were these kids I would want to ride the recruiting process out as long as possible.
If they were no longer commited ,it would be much easier on them to just say so.

Yeah, I've posted several times on this, but I'll keep saying it. One thing the Scout guys keep saying is that Loston HATES the media. He dislikes giving interviews and I'd be willing to bet he's much more focused on his senior year of football than where he is going to school. Like DMV and Zant, I don't have a crystal ball, but all we can do is trust in the staff to stay on our recruits and win games. We also don't need to jump at any rumor we hear.
