This is a difficult schedule, especially when you see that we have to play four bowl teams in our five road games," said Clemson Head Coach Dabo Swinney. "The game at Auburn will be the first of these and it will be a great test for our football team. It is one I know our

xlcock86,

Please get over yourself and the SEC. Really. We admit the SEC is a tough conference. However, playing in a tough conference does not change the fact that USC has simply not been a good team historically.

Clemson is playing five teams that participated in bowl games. We are playing against opponents in our conference because that is what you do when you are a member of a conference.

So, please stop introducing either subtly or directly the "tough" schedule and "weak" schedule topic. It is really old!

If it will make you feel better: SC plays a tougher schedule that Clemson. SC plays in a tougher conference. Feel better now?

I asked a simple question!! Stop your crying!! You probably know just as well as the rest of the nation that this is not a tough schedule and Clemson has not played one in years!! I was just on other boards and noticed a lot of people talking about this subject and they seem to agree that it's not really difficult and it's not been difficult for some years now! That's why they call it the Cupcake conference.. Just sayin..........

You confirmed my point when you finished your commentary by talking about our weak conference. We are not leaving the ACC, so we simply have to live with it. What has being in a tough conference done for USC?

Nothing! Being in a tough conference is only worthwhile when you are consistently among the elite in that conference. USC is definitely not among the elite. It would take 10 consecutive seasons of extraordinary play for USC to be part of that conversation.

I would much rather be in the SEC and be mediocre! Clemson should be winning the ACC all the time! You guys got a ton of talent and still nothing! Oh yeah 34-17!!

To be elite in the SEC you need elite talent!! Clemson i would say has a ton of talent and still can't come up with that ACC trophy..

Define Difficult. Is it as tough as USC's schedule? Nope. But there are very few schools that have as tough a schedule as you guys do. Even Tenn, Ark, UF, and UGA aren't as tough because they have USC instead of themselves to play. Vandy and Kentucky have tougher and the lower level SEC west teams have tougher, but that's it.

Looking at this year's schedule vs last years, I'd say that this year is a bit tougher than last. We play N. Texas instead of MTSU (push). Trade Coastal for PC (push) and Auburn for TCU (that's tougher, but not by much). All the other games are exactly the same (home and away reversed) except for trading home vs Virginia for an away at UNC (that's a LOT tougher).

Conference Home Games: Miami, Maryland, GT, NC State

Conference Away Games: UNC, BC, FSU, WF

The thing that jumps out here is that 3/5 Atlantic coast games are away including Atlantic favorite FSU.

Honestly it's not a ton tougher than last year, but it's certainly not the same or easier.
